The Mostly Good Podcast

Choosing Happiness Over Belongings: Yin Yoga, Meditation, Therapy, and Mental Health.

Episode Summary

HOT DAMN! I absolutely love this episode. We start off a little silly but settle in on Alexandra's story. She shares how she bought into the American dream of having shiny things, a comfy corporate career, and the debt that comes along with the lifestyle. This pursuit led to what she describes as a mental breakdown. She quit her job, leaned into yoga and therapy, and found the balance she needed. We also dive into the topics of black lives matter, political correctness, and the shit-show of content we see in our facebook newsfeeds.

Episode Notes

In the spirit of authenticity...and in saying what I'm about to say, I run the risk of you not listening to this episode, but please keep reading. In hindsight, I wish I had dug in deeper to Alexandra's story. I think she was vulnerable and shared part of her story and that we just scratched the surface of it in our conversation. After every episode, I always try to find ways of identifying better questions I could have asked. I think what we talk about is still valuable! We didn't just babble about nothing. There's some truth in here. I just wish I was able to slow down enough to listen better and see windows of opportunity to dig deeper.  I think you're going to enjoy our conversation and in all likelihood, I'm just being too hard on myself (anxiety man here). Thank you so much for listening and I hope these conversations help!
