A History of Hate: How Racism Is Still Alive and How Love Is The Answer - With Guy Flagg

Episode Summary

I'd like to introduce you to my new friend, Guy (yes, his actual name is Guy and he is indeed a guy). He shares his experience of being a Black man in America and we speculate as to why racism exists and what the remedy is to it. Through our conversation, I learned many things that I was unaware of regarding the struggles of being Black. My hope is that our conversation and Guy's willingness to be open will encourage others to do the same. To be open and willing to listen, even if we think we know the story or the answers - odds are, we don't.

Episode Notes

Not that it really needs to be said but in an effort to communicate clearly and to give no room for assumptions...supporting Black Lives Matter doesn't mean you have to hate cops. Making the assumption that all cops are bad is no different than assuming all Black people are criminals - both are wrong. Each person should be accountable for their own actions and not actions of a group. I think Guy would agree that we all need to love and respect one another and supporting Black Lives Matter doesn't mean you don't support anyone else.

Much love,

Nick
